How is typing speed calculated?
One word is counted as five characters including spaces. Gross WPM = characters ÷ 5 ÷ minutes. Net WPM subtracts one word for every uncorrected error. KDPH = total key depressions × 60 ÷ minutes.
PixType's typing test measures the three numbers that matter: gross words per minute, net WPM after errors, and key depressions per hour — the metric Indian government exams use. Choose 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes, type the passage, and download a certificate.

Class 3–5: 15–25 WPM. Class 6–8: 25–40 WPM. Class 9–12 and adults: 40–60 WPM. SSC CHSL requires 35 WPM in English; most office jobs expect 40+.
Accuracy first. Practise 5–10 minutes daily on the home row, keep your eyes on the screen, and only chase speed once accuracy stays above 95%. PixType's course does exactly this in 12 units.
